5.4 Book or Book Chapter

The correct choice of document type determines the appropriate form in the FI-Admin system and the correct completion of bibliographic fields.

To identify the document type, check whether it contains information that characterizes or identifies it more precisely.

Does this document present any data that allows this classification?

  • Is the document a complete work (monograph) by one or more authors on a specific subject?

  • Does it have an ISBN (International Standard Book Number)?

  • Is it an edited book, with chapters by different authors?

  • Does it include a title page with: author, title, publisher, place, and date of publication?

In the FI-Admin system, choose the document type: Book.

If the book is composed of chapters written by different authors, select the Document Type: “Monographic Series” in FI-Admin.

Then, create analytic records for each individual chapter.

🔔 Before creating any record in the FI-Admin system, perform a search in the system to check if the document already exists, thus avoiding duplication.
